The first phase of our new data retention features is now live!
You can access your data retention settings by going to Admin >> Manage CRA >> Preferences >> Data Retention Settings.
Right now these settings won’t do anything at all yet, and there will be no visible changes to your clients. This is just to help give you a chance to prepare and set up the system exactly the way you want, as well as ask any additional questions you have, before any archiving begins.
Next Friday, we will also be holding a webinar to specifically review these new settings and make sure you understand exactly what they do and how you can configure them for you and your clients. Register for our webinar here.
What you need to do
If you do NOT need to keep any client files for longer than 5 years:
- Read this article
- Change your archiving timeframe if you would like it to be shorter than the 60-day default.
That’s it!
If you DO want to keep files for any of your clients longer than 5 years:
- Follow the steps above, then
- Read about how to configure your client export settings, including
- How to set up your archive access, and
- How to encrypt and decrypt reports.
If you do nothing, when phase 2 rolls out:
- Reports will automatically be archived (locked from further editing) 60 days after their expiration date
- You and your clients will still be able to access all your data within the TazWorks system as normal
- We will not create PDFs or export any client’s report files to the external server.
