SALT LAKE CITY – TazWorks, LLC, front-runner in online background screening software, has integrated with the Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) offered by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
TazWorks’ InstaScreen™ users can now order a PSP search as part of their routine background checks directly from the InstaScreen™ platform and deliver them as part of the background check package. PSP allows industry service providers to obtain commercial drivers’ safety records from the FMCSA’s Motor Carrier Management Information System to make more informed hiring decisions. The database contains crash records for the most recent five years as well as the most recent three years of roadside inspection data.
“The integration helps round out the product offering for many of our clients who service the driving industry,” said TazWorks’ CEO and Founder, Barton Taylor.
NIC Technologies manages PSP on behalf of FMCSA. This includes handling the website and customer service operations.
NIC Technologies Director of Marketing and Outreach Laura Fredrickson said, “I’m pleased that TazWorks is now offering PSP to their clients. It’s critical for companies who hire commercial drivers to have access to PSP’s important safety data.”
According to the results of FMCSA’s recent study, “companies regularly using PSP have, on average, reduced their crash rates by 8 percent and their driver out-of-service rates by 17 percent.”
Screening agencies interested in enabling PSP reports should enroll on the PSP Website and then contact a TazWorks support representative.
